A CELEBRATION OF COLOR. The Portland Rose Festival bursts into life to brighten Portland and the entire state of Oregon during 24 days every June.
From an airshow to an Indy car race to three spectacular parades, the 83rd annual Rose Festival will delight audiences of all ages. In fact, some 70 events are part of the Rose Festival palette, which ranks the Rose Festival as one of the nation’s top 100 super events.
There truly is something for everyone at the Rose Festival.
In the sky, festival-goers watch in awe as world-renowned aerial acts perform breathtaking maneuvers at the Festival’s airshow, rated as one of the top four airshows in the country. More than 40 hot air balloons fill the sky with vibrant strokes of color at the Festival’s Hot Air Balloon Classic.
On the ground, audiences are dazzled by the more than 30 elaborate floats, horse units and regional and national marching bands appearing in the Festival’s Grand Floral Parade, the second-largest, all-floral parade in the nation.
The Rose Festival boasts two weekends of high-speed auto racing, highlighted by an Indy car race featuring such internationally known drivers as Danny Sullivan,
Al Linser, Jr., Rick Mears and Emerson Fittipaldi.
Audiences are also drawn to the Willamette River seawall for an exhibit area, food fair, carnival and tours on U.S. and Canadian Navy and Coast Guard ships.
So come be a part of the Rose Festival as it paints the town this June, and join in a celebration of color in “the City of Roses” - Portland, Oregon.
