TO THE MEMBERSHIP,
PORTLAND ROSE SOCIETY:
General Charles H. Martin, President of the Portland Rose Society, and C, P. Keyser, Chairman of the 1931 Rose Show, have asked me to extend to the membership of the Portland Rose Society an expression of appreciation and thanks for the fine spirit of co-operation which makes possible each year the staging of a marvelous exhibit of roses, bringing national attention and interest to our state.
We naturally feel a great thrill of pride as the anniversary of our first Rose Show approaches the fifty year mark. The 1931 Rose Show is the forty-third annual exhibit of this kind. Ours is the oldest exclusive exhibit of roses in all America.
The gentlemen referred to above urge a greater and more enthusiastic participation through the exhibition of your finest roses at the coming show. A beautiful setting at Masonic Temple will greatly enhance this year's exhibit. We ask that you studjr the classification list and determine the classes in which you wish to participate and use all skill to develop the best roses in your experience for this year's show.
