Particularly is this of the 'greatest necessity with the electric car. At the present time the facilities from the service standpoint, as regards the proper caring of electric automobiles through well equipped service stations, is fairly good, but only by the most aggressive policy and most careful supervision from the factories manufacturing electric cars is it possible for the purchasers to be protected as they should be. The Anderson Electric Car Co., of Detroit, manufacturers of the well known Detroit Electric, has taken up a 'most aggressive policy in the last few years on the Pacific Coast, and in giving the agency of their car to Mr. Frank C. Riggs, of Portland, they insisted that he maintain an exclusive electric department and with an entrance from the street to this department exclusively for the use of electric cars. This Portland agency gives the Detroit Electric a complete chain of up-to-date agencies, well and fully equipped, to take care of the Detroit Electric, starting at San Diego with an exclusive electric garage owned and operated by Mr. Mark Roberts, and at Pasadena and Los Angeles with three very large garages; San Francisco with a brand new one on Van Ness Ave.; STUDEBAKER THREE SPEED COUPES STUDEBAKER IDEAL FOR WINTER USE Electric Lights, Leather and Whipcord Upholstery, Plate Glass Windows, Silk Slip Curtains, Cut Glass Boquet Holder, Cut Glass and Leather Toilet Case and Dainty Watch ARISTOCRATIC IN APPEARANCE MODERATELY PRICED PHONE FOR DEMONSTRATION STUDEBAKER CHAPMAN AND ALDER STREETS Has Revolutionized the tire husmess You should investigate and see for yourself its nationally recognized merit Essenkay Sales Company of Oregon 605 Washington Street in Oakland, Stockton, Sacramento, Portland, Seattle, Victoria and Vancouver. For the Portland car owner who travels to California in the winter time, or the California car owner who visits Oregon and Washington in the summer time, there is every facility and convenience necessary for the electric car at either end of the Coast. The cost of transportation will vary from about $25 to $45 for the car on the steamships. Judging from the past, it has been expected that each year there will be a surprise in the new Detroit Electrics. This year, mechanically, there are fewer changes than ever before, but the new Clear Vision Brougham is entirely brand new and is a welcome addition to the various 1913 models. "SEVEN SISTERS" AT THE BAKER THIS WEEK First Stock Production of Clever Comedy Attracts Much Attention. Among the many successful productions of the Baker players this season is the well known farce comedy, "The Seven Sisters," which is this week attracting much attention and drawing large crowds of delighted theatre-goers. It affords splendid opportunities for nearly every member of the popular company including Alice Fleming in the role created by Laurette Taylor in New York, and Robert Conness as the young lieutenant, which Charles Cherry played in the New York production. The play is written in a most delightful vein and deals with the many troubles of a widow with seven daughters to get off her hands fit the most desirable manner. It shows the great difference between the European countries and America in the manner of conducting the marriage question, and also may offer some really good suggestions to other mothers who may be troubled more or less with the same difficulty. It is written in a comedy vein pure and simple and is rife with action and laughter. Musical Director Heilig Theater The Modem Brougham After Sixty Years of Experience The royal coaches of every nation have been handed down to succeeding generations, their exquisite workmanship and wonderful durability keeping alive tradition and sentiment. We, as coach builders for over sixty years, built the Rauch & Lang Electric with all the exquisite care only coach builders know, that each vehicle may last beyond its generation and be always prized for its family association and sentiment. The difference between a coach builder's masterpiece and a "factory" product is the difference between the Rauch & Lang Electric and cars which, are made in a hurry. The Rauch & Lang Electric never can be "common"—it will always be the car of social prestige, and appeal to those who know that in electrics cheapness is not a matter of price. Our latest models are too distinctively superior to appeal to any but those who will always buy the best. Any Rauch & Lang agent will gladly demonstrate. H. L. KEATS AUTOMOBILE CO.
