Hopworks blasting ceiling

Description

The construction of the Hopworks Urban Brewery began by stripping the old Sunset Fuel offices at 2944 SE Powell Boulevard down to bare wood. Then ground corncobs were used to blast away years of dirt and finishes. Corncobs are not only natural and biodegradable, when ground they are a gentler abrasive than sand. This work uncovered the beauty of the original old-growth lumber used in the ceiling.
