A. D. 1804-5 sent out an expedition under the leadership of Captains Meriwether Lewis and William dark, to the Pacifio Coast for the purpose of exploring the Pacific Northwest, and
WHEREAS,- By reason of this exploration, the country known as the "Oregon Country", comprising the present states of Oregon, Washington, Idaho and parts of Montana and Wyoming, was annexed to the United States, and
WHEREAS,- the people ©f that great Empire are about t® commerate this histori© event hy an International Exposition, beginning June 1st, 1905, and
W H 1 R E A S,- these Expositions are great educators, a work in which we are directly and especially interested, he it
RESOLVE I),- that the leiegates of the National Educational Association here in Congress assembled, heartily endorse the efforts of our Pacific Coast Citizens, and give It our individual and collective support and co-openation.
