The undersigned exhibitors who have been awarded the Gold Medal for their respective exhibits at the Lewis and Clark Exposition, respectfully call your attention to the fact that while we are aware the Gold Medal is the highest award, we believe it would add to the value of the Diploma of Award if that fact was stated thereon, and would suggest some such wording as the following:
GOLD MEDAL (Highest Award)
This would be a source of satisfaction to us, in view of the fact that at the various Expositions the "highest award" has been indicated in a variety of ways.   As we understand it, the "Gold Medal" of the Lewis and Clark Exposition represents the highest award, and we value it accordingly.
