I beg to acknowledge receipt of your kind letter of the 6th inet., and in reply desire to say that it is hardly possible that I shall be at Salem in the near future. However, if I am I shall take pleasure in calling to see you.

You will likely be in Salem during the coming session of the Legislature, and I would be pleased if you would call in upon me for a moment or two. I am interested in behalf of o\xr mutual friend William H. Savage, and can do better talking to you than writing. I hope you have not been away from Oregon so long that you feel like a foreigner.
