Col. Henry E.DOsch,
Portland, Oregon. My dear Mr.Dosoh:—
I note that you got back, alive and to judge from the newspaper interviews you are enjoying your usual good spirits, for which let us be duly grateful. While we are on the subject of gratefulness I desire to call your attention to enclosed copy of letter that I sent to H.W, Scott, prior to the elction or appointment of Director General for the Lewis & Clark Exposition.
I fail to understand Scott, and am sure that he has made a mistake which he will regret.
I shall he in Portland on the I2th inst. for the purpose of having a tussle with the St.Louis Commission. I note that Col.Drake and Mr. Fisk are red hot after my job - well, possibly they will have a show, for unless I am in a position to make a good exhibit 1 will not undertake the task.
Are you going to St.Louis? I shall be glad to hear from you. With best regards to the folks at home, I am
