My Dear Sir,
Please accept my hearty thanks for your congratulations upon the victories achieved by the Japanese Navy. I shall be pleased very much to convey your congratulation and kind sympathy to my government and the people, among whom you have .many friends, assuring you that they will appreciate your kind feeling exceedingly*
I believe that Americans, Englishmen and tae people of nearly all the leading nations of the world are in sympathy with Japan and her people in this great struggle for her right.
Allow me at this time to extend my congratulations to you also, or rather to the Lewis and clark Exposition on your appointment of Director ©neral. You are certainly the right man for the place and a better selection could hardly be made.
Again let me thank .ou most heartily for your cordial letter and believe me I remain with best wishes for your continued good f ortune.
