The first floor lobby is shown with newly exposed overhead beams during early stages of the 1994-1997 renovation. The view is looking southeast towards the lobby doors. In the 1950s, this checkerboard vinyl tile was laid over the lobby's original marble flooring. Because the marble flooring was not salvageable, new terrazzo flooring was installed.
