Hello,
Thank you for this question. Our research team was not able to find very much information on whether the William Webb pictured here or William Webb Ferguson are in fact the same person. We did compare this photo with a portrait of William Webb Ferguson and it is difficult to tell from that. I did see that the Oregon Historical Society estimates this photo as taken in 1912 and their description reads "William Webb was a musician and entertainer in Portland during the early twentieth century.". I also see that William Webb Ferguson passed away in 1910 according to Wikipedia. So, there is a chance that they are not the same persons. I am sorry that we could not be more sure. I'd be curious to know if you have found any other sources to answer this.
