McMenamins Kennedy School Theater murals

Description

As the McMenamin brothers found success in re-purposing old buildings into unique spaces, they branched out from pubs and breweries. In October 1997, they reopened the Kennedy Elementary School as a destination for lodging, dining, and entertainment. Renovations at this location included turning the old school auditorium into a 300 seat theater. Art throughout the complex, including these in-progress murals, depict people and scenes from the history of the school and neighborhood.
