This edition of the Vanport Neighborhood Bulletin addresses the suspension of Federal funds for Vanport schools and the Vanport Hospital, and the ways in which the Housing Authority can reduce costs. This article also addresses the responsibility of each resident to become involved in the continued functioning of the neighborhood. A short item towards the end of the bulletin reports the securing of funds for schools and, temporarily, for the hospital, by a special election authorizing a greatly increased tax levy.
